Anne-Lise and her little friend
Anne-Lise is a little girl with wonderfully messy hair. No matter how much she brushes it, a few curls always bounce in every direction. Anne-Lise doesn’t mind. She thinks her hair looks like a nest full of adventures.
One day, she found a tiny green bird injured at the foot of a rose bush. She gently took the bird in and named it Pistachio because of its bright green feathers. For several weeks, Anne-Lise looked after Pistachio until the bird regained its strength.
Since then Pistachio has returned every morning to visit Anne-Lise by her window. One rainy day, Pistachio brought a bright emerald green feather and dropped it gently into her hands. Anne-Lise keeps the feather in her favorite book as a reminder of their friendship. As the seasons change, they continue to share quiet moments together, each bringing joy to the other’s day.
About the creation of Anne-Lise
Anne-Lise is a 30 cm (12 inches) doll entirely handmade by me in my studio in France.
Using sheep’s wool and after many hours of work, I shaped her body to give her a childlike appearance : round cheeks, shapeley legs and knees. Her skin, caressed by the spring sun, is sprinkled with tiny freckles. Her curious eyes are embroidered with chocolate brown cotton floss. For her hair, we chose natural lamb’s wool locks.
Anne-Lise wears a dusty pink linen dress, a wool sweater, cotton leggings, and leather shoes. She comes with her little needle felted wool firend, Pistachio.
